As a family law attorney and mediator, I help individuals and couples work through challenging family law issues with the goal of achieving increased ease and stability in their lives. I recognize that while there are many common concerns, there is also nuance and uniqueness to each family that must be acknowledged and considered, be it in resolving conflicts, negotiating settlements, presenting arguments, or drafting marital agreements.
A main focus of my practice for the past seventeen years has been child custody. I care deeply about children and families, and I believe that placing children and their best interests at the center is key to building and maintaining a healthy society. I counsel parties about the processes and options that are available to them so that they can determine the best path forward to resolving the presenting issues. This may include crafting thoughtful parenting plans, connecting clients with co-parenting experts and mental health professionals who can provide specialized assistance, negotiating and drafting agreements, and navigating the legal system with as much grace and efficiency as possible.
I first completed mediation training with Gary Friedman and Catherine Conner at the Center for Understanding in Conflict in 2019, and completed a second training in 2023. As a mediator, I facilitate agreements by providing parties with a space and opportunity to understand the process of obtaining a divorce and the applicable law in a way that is accessible. Parties can talk through options and negotiate in a transparent and confidential setting. The uncertainty that surrounds transitions in family law can feel destabilizing. Mediation is an opportunity for agency so that parties can reach agreements on their own terms and walk away with a written agreement that they negotiated together with the assistance of a neutral.
I grew up in Silicon Valley, and I graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. I graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law with an emphasis in litigation. Since 2007, I have practiced family law exclusively throughout the Bay Area, with a focus on Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties. I live in San Francisco with my husband and two sons, and I have been a devoted yoga practitioner for nearly twenty five years. I enjoy reading, nature, fashion, and art.
