Liat Sadler holds a Bachelor’s with honors from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics. She graduated cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, which she attended in New York City. She is certified by the State Bar of California as a specialist in family law.

For several years, she managed a nonprofit organization in the Bay area and then decided to pursue a career in law. She worked as a legal assistant at a law firm working on prisoners’ rights and then was honored with a full scholarship to attend law school at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City. During law school, she interned in Washington, D.C., Newark and New York City, working for a federal judge, a federal Special Master and the State Attorney’s Office.

After law school, Liat returned to the Bay area and opened her San Francisco family law office. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco as the Education Chair. She coordinated trainings for family lawyers in San Francisco, organizing seminars on a wide range of topics, including the intersections between bankruptcy and family law, complex tax issues in family law proceedings, the use of computer forensics in family law proceedings, child sexual abuse in custody cases, and recent updates in the law on domestic violence. She conducted trainings for family law trial lawyers about family law appeals for the Bar Association of San Francisco and the State Bar of California.

Liat was born in Israel and grew up in Dallas, Texas. She has lived in the Bay area for over 20 years. She loves to run and hang out with her family, including her husband, two girls and silver lab. She is a practitioner of mindfulness and meditation, and she brings that with her to the practice of family law.
